Robinhood review · Series 02 · Features, Gold, and rewards. What the app actually includes, what is free, what Gold’s $5 buys, and which “bonuses” are still live. Rates are as of September 23, 2026. If the app disagrees with a number below, believe the app. Independent guide. Not Robinhood. Not investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures checked September 23, 2026.
If you open and fund a new Robinhood account through our link, we may receive a referral reward. You don’t pay extra for using it. Offers, APYs, and fee schedules change. How to open the account and link a bank is a separate guide: How to open a Robinhood account in 2026.
Short answer. Robinhood is a U.S. brokerage with commission-free stocks and ETFs, plus options, futures, crypto, IRAs, a managed portfolio, and — for Gold members — banking and a credit card. Opening the brokerage costs $0. Robinhood Gold costs $5 a month or $50 a year. As of September 17, 2026, Gold’s headline cash rate is 3.6% APY, with strings. As of August 31, 2026, Robinhood reported 28.6 million funded customers and $384 billion in platform assets.
You’ll leave this site for Robinhood. U.S. residents, 18+. We may earn a reward if you fund a new account. Most people receive a $5 stock (about 99%); about 0.9% get $10; about 0.1% get $200. Their terms win any argument with this paragraph.
Robinhood features at a glance
Robinhood is not one account. The individual brokerage is the front door. Almost everything else is either a feature you turn on inside it, a subscription, or a separate company with its own application. That is the distinction that keeps people from mixing up a stock, a savings rate, and a credit card.
| Feature | What it is | What it costs to have | Turn on first? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual brokerage | Stocks, ETFs, fractional shares | $0 to open. $0 commissions | Yes. This is the account. |
| Options | Stock, ETF, and index contracts | $0 commission on stock and ETF options. Index contracts are $0.50, or $0.35 with Gold, plus exchange fees | No |
| Futures and event contracts | Futures and prediction-style contracts | Per-contract commissions. Gold is cheaper. Plus exchange fees | No |
| Crypto | Buy, sell, transfer, stake | No commission on the basic route. A spread, or exchange-routing fees, still exists. Staking takes 25% of rewards | Only if you already wanted crypto |
| IRA | Traditional or Roth, self-directed | $0. Match is 1%, or 3% with Gold | After the taxable account exists |
| Strategies | Managed portfolio | 0.25% a year. Gold waives the fee above $100,000 | Only if you want it managed |
| Gold | Subscription, not an account | $5/month or $50/year | When a perk pays for it |
| Banking | Checking and savings | Gold required for the APY. Checking APY also wants direct deposit | After you read the footnotes |
| Gold Card | Visa credit card | No separate annual fee. Gold is required. Credit approval | Separate decision |
| Legend | Desktop trading platform | $0 on top of the brokerage | When the phone feels small |
Robinhood also lists IPO Access, joint accounts, custodial accounts, trust accounts, a cash card, a Platinum Card, concierge, and tools it calls “agentic.” Joint, custodial, and trust accounts generally need an individual account in good standing first. The Platinum Card and the agentic tools did not have stable public pricing or a finished feature list on September 23, 2026. If they aren’t in your app with a fee you can read, they aren’t a benefit yet. Robinhood has a HOOD Summit scheduled for September 29, 2026. Treat anything announced there as new, not as something this page already covers.
What you can do without paying for Gold
“Commission-free” is true for the core trade, and it is narrower than the ads.
- Stocks and ETFs, including fractional shares, with no Robinhood commission and no account minimum. You can buy a dollar amount instead of a whole share.
- Longer hours. Robinhood markets 24-hour trading five days a week on eligible securities. Not every ticker trades overnight. The order ticket is the source of truth, not the homepage.
- Stock and ETF options with no Robinhood commission. You still pay small regulatory fees, listed in the fees section. Approval is a separate step. Don’t request a level you don’t understand just because the button is there.
- Recurring investments and recurring deposits. Useful. Not a reason to automate a trade you haven’t looked at.
- IPO Access for some offerings. Requesting shares is not the same as receiving them. Not every IPO is listed.
- Robinhood Legend, the desktop platform, at no extra subscription. Charts, layouts, and faster workflow. The brokerage fees don’t disappear because you opened a bigger screen.
- Crypto on the basic routing path with no stated commission. You still cross a spread. Exchange routing, if you use it, has a published maker/taker schedule.
- A self-directed IRA with a 1% match. Gold is how that match becomes 3%. The account itself doesn’t require Gold.
- Robinhood Learn and Snacks. Education and a news product. Fine. Not a research department.
Margin, the higher instant-deposit ceiling, the 3.6% brokerage cash rate, the extra IRA match, cheaper index options and futures, the strategies fee cap, banking’s yield, and the Gold Card all sit behind the subscription or behind a second application. Free Robinhood is a brokerage. Gold is the bundle around it.
Robinhood Gold benefits
Robinhood Gold is $5 a month, or $50 if you pay annually. Robinhood bills the individual investing account you’ve had the longest, or your Robinhood credit card if you have one. You don’t pick the billing account. Cancel, and the perks generally last until the billing cycle ends. Pending “deposit boost” payouts can be lost when you cancel. If you were earning the high-yield cash rate, that program turns off at the end of the cycle.
This is the perk list from Robinhood’s own Gold overview, not from roundup blogs.
| Perk | The number | The string |
|---|---|---|
| Brokerage cash yield | 3.6% APY as of Sept 17, 2026 | High-Yield Cash program has to be on. A margin debit means there is no cash balance earning interest. Rate can change any time. Robinhood is not a bank. Applies to taxable self-directed individual accounts, and to a joint account if an owner has Gold and the program is on for that joint account. |
| Bigger instant deposits | Up to $5,000 under a $2,000 portfolio; above that, up to $5,000 or 3× portfolio, rounded down to the nearest $1,000, whichever is greater | Not guaranteed. Not available on IRAs, which stay at up to $1,000. Status has to be in good standing. Without Gold: up to $1,000, or 2× portfolio on the same rounding once the portfolio is over $1,000. |
| Margin | First $1,000 borrowed is interest-free | Above $1,000 you pay the published margin rate on the balance those tiers describe. If you leave Gold, the first $1,000 starts accruing too. Margin can lose more than you deposited. |
| IRA contributions | 3% match, versus 1% without Gold | Self-directed IRAs only. Keep Gold for 1 year after the first Gold match. Keep the matched assets in the IRA for 5 years. Otherwise the extra can be clawed back. |
| Strategies fee | 0.25% a year, charged only on the first $100,000 if you have Gold | Every dollar over $100,000 is 0% management fee for eligible Gold members. The cap doesn’t stack with some other offers. Strategies doesn’t get the IRA contribution match. |
| Index options | $0.35 per contract with Gold, $0.50 without | Exchange and regulatory fees are extra and can be larger than the Robinhood fee. |
| Futures | $0.50 per contract, per side, with Gold. $0.75 without | Exchange and regulatory fees are extra. Offered by Robinhood Derivatives, not the broker-dealer. Not SIPC, not FDIC. |
| Event contracts | Gold cuts the commission factor from 10% to 5% | Formula, effective June 1, 2026: commission = k × price × (1 − price) × contracts, rounded up to the cent. Exchange fees still apply. |
| Gold Card | 3x points on purchases. Up to 5x in the travel portal | Credit approval. Points into the brokerage at 1 cent. Statement credit is worth less. Caps on the elevated travel rates. |
| Mortgage intro | About 0.75% under a national average, plus $500 toward closing costs, via Sage Home Loans | Requires the annual $50 Gold plan, not the monthly plan. Sage is not Robinhood. Robinhood is not a lender. No asset minimum stated by Robinhood. |
| Rotating rewards | Partner offers, crypto gifts, short-run giveaways | They change. A reward that isn’t in your Gold tab today is not yours. |
Is Robinhood Gold worth $5 a month?
Sometimes. The annual plan is the cleaner test, because several perks — banking’s yield, the mortgage offer, the Gold Card’s own help page — are written around $50 a year, which is $4.17 a month. The monthly plan is $60 a year. Do that math before you tap the monthly button out of habit.
| Your situation | Does $50 a year pay for itself? |
|---|---|
| Empty account. No IRA, no margin, no card, no banking | No. Gold is a fee on top of a brokerage that was already free. |
| You will contribute $7,500 to a self-directed IRA, keep Gold a year, and leave the matched money in the IRA for 5 years | Yes on the match alone. The extra 2% is $150. At 50 or over, on Robinhood’s stated $8,600 limit, the extra 2% is $172. That assumes you were going to contribute anyway. |
| You hold $200,000 in Strategies | Yes. The 0.25% fee without the cap is $500. With Gold you pay 0.25% on $100,000, which is $250. You save $250, against $50. |
| You hold $50,000 in Strategies | No, not from the fee cap. You’re under $100,000, so you pay 0.25% either way ($125). Gold doesn’t discount that. |
| You carry $1,000 of margin all year | Barely, and the risk is the point. At the 5.25% rate, waiving interest on $1,000 is about $52.50. You have taken margin risk to cover a subscription. |
| You park cash that would otherwise earn nothing | About $1,390 at 3.6% earns $50 of interest, which covers annual Gold. If a no-fee savings account already pays close to 3.6%, the yield spread does not cover Gold. Compare the rate you can get without a subscription, not the rate against zero. |
| You want Robinhood Banking’s advertised 3.6% | Annual Gold is required to earn the APY. Checking’s APY also requires at least $1,000 a month in direct deposits. Savings is not described with that same direct-deposit line. Read footnote 1 on the banking page the week you publish. |
| You want the Gold Card for 3x points | Gold is the cover charge, not the annual fee of the card. Worth it only if you will actually redeem points at a full cent into the brokerage, and you pay the card off. It is a credit product. Approval is not a perk you toggle. |
Leaving Gold is allowed. Do it with your eyes open if an IRA match is still inside its first year, or if you have a margin balance that will start accruing on the first $1,000 the moment the cycle ends.
Robinhood promotions and rewards
People search “Robinhood promo code.” There isn’t one. The link is the mechanism. If a page offers a code to type, it is not describing the current new-customer stock offer.
The new-customer stock
For a first individual taxable brokerage account: get approved, link a bank or debit card, claim within 60 days. Robinhood’s published odds are about 99% at $5, 0.9% at $10, and 0.1% at $200. You pick from 26 large companies, two from each of 13 sectors. You can’t sell for 3 trading days. You can’t withdraw that cash value for 30 days. The value can show up on a 1099. A deposit is not the trigger for this stock. A settled deposit over $0 is the trigger for a referrer’s credit. Do both if you came from a referral. The full signup order is in the first guide: How to open a Robinhood account in 2026.
Use the link before you create a login. First individual brokerage only. U.S. residents, 18+. We may earn a reward if the account is funded. Published odds: about 99% get $5, 0.9% get $10, 0.1% get $200.
Referral milestones, if you later invite people
Since September 1, 2026, referrers are paid only at milestones: $50 at 1 funded referral, $150 at 3, $800 at 10, $4,000 at 50, and $10,000 at 200. Nothing in between. The cap is $15,000 a year. The friend has to be new, approved, linked, and funded with a deposit that settles. Rewards are stock, claimed within 60 days, with a 60-day wait to withdraw the cash value. This is not the reader’s sign-up bonus. Don’t write it as if it is.
Deposit-tier cash, only if your flow shows it
Some promotional links add a cash bonus on net deposits in the first 7 days, in tiers that have started at $25 once deposits reach $1,000 and gone up to $1,250 at $100,000 or more. If that table is not inside your signup, you don’t have the offer. Don’t deposit more than you planned to chase a tier you haven’t seen.
What is not a current promotion
- The account-transfer bonus that ran from May 26 to June 23, 2026 (1% without Gold, 2% with Gold, on eligible ACATS transfers) is a closed window. Transfer bonuses come back. Assume they haven’t until the app says they have.
- “HOOD month” and similar banners are seasonal. Read the banner. An article cannot promise a button that changes on Thursday.
- Gold’s rotating partner rewards and crypto gifts are real and irregular. Screenshot the offer if you care about it. They expire.
The IRA match
On a self-directed Robinhood IRA, eligible annual contributions match at 1%. With Gold they match at 3%. Robinhood’s IRA match FAQ states the 2026 contribution limits as $7,500 under age 50 and $8,600 at 50 or over. That is $75 or $225 of match under 50, and $86 or $258 at 50 or over. The match does not count against the IRS contribution limit. You need earned income to contribute. Roth versus traditional is a tax choice this page will not make for you.
Transfers in from another IRA, and rollovers from an old 401(k), match at 1% with or without Gold. Robinhood describes that match as uncapped. Their example is $1,000 on $100,000. The match is only on assets that actually transfer and settle.
The hold is the part people skip, then learn from a fee:
- Keep the assets that earned the match in the IRA for at least 5 years, or an early-removal fee can apply if the remaining balance drops below the deposit plus the match.
- If you took the Gold 3%, stay on Gold for at least 1 year from the first Gold match or the extra 2% can be removed.
- IRAs managed by Robinhood Strategies do not get the contribution match. The match is a self-directed perk.
You can open one traditional and one Roth at Robinhood even if you have an IRA somewhere else or a workplace plan. That is not the same as being allowed to deduct the contribution, or being under the Roth income limit. Those are IRS rules. Robinhood won’t give you a 1099 for the match itself, because of how IRAs are taxed. A conversion can still make the match taxable. Ask a tax preparer before you convert.
Banking, the cash card, and the Gold Card
Three products share a first name and almost nothing else. Mixing them up is how a 3.6% rate ends up on a card that doesn’t pay interest.
Robinhood Banking
Robinhood’s banking page advertises 3.6% APY on both checking and savings, no minimum balance, and no account fees, accurate as of September 17, 2026. The rate can change. An annual Gold subscription is required to earn the APY. Checking’s APY, and some limits and fees, also require at least $1,000 in monthly direct deposits to Robinhood checking. The page says “request access,” so this is not something every login can open in one tap. The “up to $50 million FDIC” line is a sweep across partner banks, not a single FDIC account with that limit. Robinhood Money, LLC is not a bank. Banking services on that page are provided through a bank partner. FDIC insurance depends on Robinhood’s records and the program terms. Read the sweep disclosure before you treat $50 million as a personal guarantee.
The Robinhood Cash Card
This is a spending card tied to a cash account, not the Gold credit card. Funds held for the Cash Card at Sutton Bank can be eligible for FDIC insurance up to $250,000. Robinhood’s own disclosure says that cash card balance does not accrue interest. Don’t move long-term savings there expecting 3.6%.
The Robinhood Gold Card
A Visa credit card from Robinhood Credit, Inc., issued by Coastal Community Bank. Robinhood Credit is not a bank. Subject to credit approval. Gold cardholders are on the annual $50 Gold plan.
- Default earn rate is 3x points on purchases.
- The travel portal can go higher, up to 5x, when you pay with the card rather than with points. Robinhood caps elevated spend: $3,000 at the 4x tier and $3,500 at the 5x tier, then the multiplier falls back to 3x.
- The clean redemption is the brokerage account, at $0.01 per point. Gift cards are also a cent. Statement credit is worth less than a cent. Gas and Amazon redemptions can be worth less too. Once you move points to the brokerage, that cash can earn the Gold brokerage APY if you’re in the high-yield program.
- Foreign-currency purchases don’t earn points. This rewards article does not state a foreign-transaction fee. Read the cardholder agreement before you travel. Don’t trust a blog’s fee over the agreement in your own approval.
- Point redemptions are not reversible after you start them. There is a long menu of merch, lounge passes, card-design upgrades, and a mystery box. Those are entertainment. The brokerage redemption is the one with a published cent.
A Platinum Card appears in Robinhood’s product list. On September 23, 2026 there wasn’t a public price or rewards table stable enough to quote. If you’re writing a comparison, wait until the application shows a fee.
Crypto, staking, and Earn
Crypto is Robinhood Crypto, a different entity from the broker-dealer. Crypto is not FDIC insured and not SIPC protected. Availability depends on where you live. New York, in particular, has blocked at least one yield feature that other states can see.
Trading
The ordinary buy/sell route is listed as no commission, which still leaves the spread. If you route to an exchange, Robinhood Crypto’s fee schedule uses 30-day volume tiers. At the lowest tier the taker fee is 0.95% and the maker fee is 0.50%, stepping down as volume rises, to 0.03% taker and 0.00% maker at $25 million and up. Crypto transfers off Robinhood have a $0 Robinhood fee and a network fee you don’t control.
Staking
You can stake Solana, Ethereum, and Cardano where the product is offered. Robinhood’s fee schedule takes a 25% commission on staking rewards. That is a cut of the yield, not of your coins. If a network’s gross rate were 4%, a 25% commission would leave you about 3%, before whatever the in-app estimate already nets out. Partner fees inside that commission are capped in the help center at no more than 2.75%. ETH rewards are socialized across staked customer ETH because validators are batched in 32 ETH increments. Unstaking has bonding and unbonding periods that depend on the asset. Staked crypto can be slashed or sit illiquid. The estimate on the screen is not a promised APY.
Earn
Robinhood Earn is a stablecoin yield product around USDG. It has been marketed near 7% APY. That number is an estimate from lending markets, it moves, and it is not the 3.6% brokerage or banking rate. It is not a savings account. Don’t put emergency cash in a yield product you cannot explain, and don’t quote 7% on a page unless the user’s own app still shows it the day you hit publish.
Three yields people mash into one
| Yield | What it is | Rules |
|---|---|---|
| 3.6% brokerage cash | Gold High-Yield Cash program on uninvested cash | As of Sept 17, 2026. Program must be on. Margin debit kills the cash balance that earns. |
| 3.6% banking | Checking and savings advertised rate | Annual Gold required. Checking also wants $1,000 monthly direct deposit. Access still rolling out. Same date. |
| Crypto Earn | Variable stablecoin yield (USDG), has been advertised much higher | Not FDIC. Not the same product. Not permanent. |
If a sentence contains all three, the sentence is wrong.
Options, futures, and prediction markets
These are on the feature list because pretending they aren’t is how a beginner finds them at 11 p.m. They are not part of a first week.
- Stock and ETF options. No Robinhood commission. A combined regulatory fee of about $0.04 per contract, a tiny CAT fee, and on sales a FINRA trading-activity fee. None of that is a strategy. Assignment can pull in margin even if you thought margin was off.
- Index options. $0.50 per contract, or $0.35 with Gold, plus exchange fees that often exceed the commission. Robinhood’s own example, 12 SPXW contracts under $1 of premium with Gold, came to $10.68 all-in. Read the ticket.
- Professional designation. Starting on or after October 15, 2026, customers tagged as professional under exchange rules pay an extra $0.50 per options contract.
- Futures. $0.75 per contract per side, or $0.50 with Gold, plus exchange fees and an NFA assessment. Losses can exceed the cash in the account. Different legal entity.
- Event contracts. Robinhood’s prediction-market product, cleared as futures-style contracts. Gold halves the commission factor, as described above. Volume here has been large enough that it is a business line, not a toy tab. It is still a contract that can expire at zero.
Robinhood Strategies, the managed portfolio
Strategies is Robinhood Asset Management, an SEC-registered advisor. The fee is 0.25% a year, $2.50 per $1,000, accrued daily and charged monthly. It is not a commission. With Gold, eligible accounts pay that fee only on the first $100,000. Access to Strategies does not require Gold. The fee cap does.
Cash in a managed account is swept. That sweep is required, not optional. Gold-style promotions written for self-directed accounts generally do not apply, and the IRA contribution match does not apply to managed IRAs. You are paying someone to pick the portfolio. Their published composite for the all-equity strategy, as of March 31, 2026, was 17.2% for one year and 6.4% since inception on January 31, 2025, after fees, which they described as trailing the S&P 500 by about half a point over that since-inception span. Past performance is not a reason to hire them. A 0.25% fee is a reason to compare them with doing nothing in a broad ETF, which is a decision, not a slogan.
Robinhood fees that are still real
The honest fee sentence: stocks and ETFs are commission-free, and so are stock and ETF options. Almost everything else has a number.
| Item | Amount | As of |
|---|---|---|
| Account opening, maintenance, inactivity | $0 | Standard brokerage |
| Gold | $5/mo or $50/yr | Current overview |
| SEC fee on equity sells | $20.60 per $1 million of principal, rounded up to the cent. Not passed on for sells of $500 or less | April 4, 2026 |
| FINRA TAF, equity sells | $0.000195 per share, capped, rounded to the cent | January 1, 2026 |
| Options regulatory fee | $0.04 per contract | January 10, 2025 |
| Index option contract | $0.50, or $0.35 with Gold, plus exchange fees | Current fee help |
| Futures | $0.75 per contract per side, or $0.50 with Gold, plus exchange and NFA fees | Derivatives fee schedule |
| Margin interest, on the full settled balance in that tier | 5.25% up to $50k; 5.05% to $100k; 4.75% to $1M; 4.50% to $10M; 4.45% to $50M; 4.20% above that. First $1,000 waived with Gold | September 17, 2026 |
| Strategies | 0.25% a year, Gold caps the fee base at $100,000 | Current Strategies page |
| Staking | 25% of staking rewards | Crypto fee schedule |
| Crypto exchange routing | 0.95% / 0.50% taker/maker at the lowest tier, lower as volume rises | Crypto fee schedule dated 2026 |
| ADR pass-through | Often $0.01–$0.03 per share, set by the custodian bank | When the ADR charges it |
Standard ACH deposits are not where Robinhood makes a retail fee. Instant withdrawals to a debit card can. The review screen shows the fee before you confirm. If a fee is on that screen, it is real even if this table doesn’t list it. Wire fees, paper statements, and regulatory fees live on the fee schedule and move.
What to turn on first
If you don’t have an account yet, stop here and do Series 01: open the individual brokerage through the link, link a U.S. checking account, deposit an amount you can leave alone until it settles, claim the stock, turn on a real two-factor method. Then come back. Start with How to open a Robinhood account in 2026.
- Leave Gold off unless you already know you will fund an IRA this year, keep a large Strategies balance, or you have been approved for banking or the card.
- Leave options, futures, event contracts, and margin off. They don’t make the stocks work better.
- If you want the cash rate, enroll in the High-Yield Cash program after you subscribe to Gold, and don’t carry a margin debit at the same time. You can’t earn 3.6% on cash you don’t have.
- If you want the IRA match, open the self-directed IRA, not the managed one, and calendar the 5-year hold and the 1-year Gold requirement before the first contribution.
- If you want banking, request access, switch to annual Gold if you’re on monthly, and set the direct deposit before you expect checking to pay 3.6%.
- Ignore any promo that isn’t written inside your own app the day you act.
Start with the account, not the bundle. Then use the setup guide at Series 01. Gold, the card, and banking can wait until a perk covers the $50. U.S. residents, 18+. We may earn a referral reward if your deposit settles. Robinhood Financial LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, for securities. Crypto through Robinhood Crypto. Gold is optional and costs $5/month or $50/year. Robinhood FAQ
What are Robinhood’s features?
A commission-free brokerage for stocks and ETFs, plus options, futures, event contracts, crypto, IRAs with a contribution match, a managed portfolio at 0.25%, Legend on desktop, and — with Gold and, where required, approval — banking and a credit card. The brokerage is $0 to open. Gold is $5 a month or $50 a year.
How much does Robinhood Gold cost?
$5 per month or $50 per year. It bills your earliest individual investing account, or your Robinhood credit card if you have one.
Is Robinhood Gold worth it?
It is worth $50 a year if you will use the extra 2% IRA match on a real contribution, hold well over $100,000 in Strategies, or you specifically want banking’s yield or the Gold Card and you understand the credit and the hold rules. It is not worth it on an empty brokerage account.
What is the Robinhood sign-up bonus?
A stock worth $5, $10, or $200. About 99% of people get $5, about 0.9% get $10, and about 0.1% get $200. You must be a new individual-brokerage customer, get approved, link a bank or debit card, and claim within 60 days. There is no promo code. Full signup path: Series 01.
What is Robinhood’s interest rate?
As of September 17, 2026, Gold members in the High-Yield Cash program earn 3.6% APY on eligible uninvested brokerage cash. Robinhood Banking advertises the same 3.6% on checking and savings, with annual Gold required and a direct-deposit rule on checking. Crypto Earn is a different, variable rate. None of these are permanent.
What is the Robinhood IRA match?
1% on eligible self-directed IRA contributions, or 3% with Gold. Incoming IRA transfers and old 401(k) rollovers match at 1% either way. Matched assets are meant to stay for 5 years. Gold members need to keep Gold for a year to hold the extra 2%. Managed IRAs don’t get the contribution match.
Does the Robinhood Gold Card pay 3% cash back?
It earns 3x points, and up to 5x on some travel-portal purchases until a spend cap. A point is worth one cent redeemed into a Robinhood brokerage account. Statement credit pays less. You need Gold and a credit approval. Paying the card off matters more than the multiplier.
Does Robinhood charge fees?
Not a commission on stocks, ETFs, or stock and ETF options. Yes on Gold, margin interest, index-option contracts, futures, a quarter of staking rewards, crypto exchange-routing, the 0.25% Strategies fee, and small regulatory fees on many sells. The order ticket is the final list.
Is Robinhood FDIC insured?
Stocks and crypto are not. SIPC, through Robinhood Financial, protects against the broker failing, up to $500,000 including $250,000 for cash. It does not protect a stock falling. Cash swept to program banks, Robinhood Banking deposits, and the cash-card balance at Sutton Bank can be FDIC insured through those banks, up to the limits in their disclosures. Market losses are on you.
